I am a certified and licensed teacher with my BS in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Library Science. I taught in public education for 27 years. In 2020, I started teaching online. I was a classroom teacher in grades K, 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 6th grade. I have had to teach reading, phonics, handwriting, writing, and all language arts curricula throughout my career. I hold a TESOL certificate to teach ESL students and I have worked with ESL students in summer and afterschool programs since 1983.
I may use Accelerated Reading Book Finder to see the reading level and rating of the books used in class. The Horn Book Inc. is another worldwide and well-respected source for checking reviews on books.
