This 1-week Summer chess camp is designed to help improve students chess game by focusing on Middle / End game, and tactics. It also includes tournaments to be used on lichess.org which will put the tactics they learn into real strategic game play! Students can choose to register on their own on lichess.org (Free) or MYMChess can create a student ID/PW for students based on our coaching profile on lichess.org. Students are expected to know how to play chess before joining this class. Intermediate level students that understand check, checkmate, and basic tactics and ready to take their chess skills onto next level. (This is not a camp for complete beginner students) Not sure if this is right for your child? Positional strategies that will lead to a good structure going to the endgame. Also a social play to put the fresh ideas into action. Time control would vary depending on the lesson of the day. - Endgame Lesson : Third or last stage of chess in which students will be taught on how to calculate and evaluate to have a good finish of the game, either a win or a draw! Alot of calculation and visualization will be required in end game. Also a social play to put the fresh ideas into action. Time control would vary depending on the lesson of the day. - Master's Game Analysis - Explain and walk through famous games of the past! Learning from the classical of the famous chess Grand Masters, particularly the ex-world / current champions. Define and explain the reasoning behind each critical move. Split the group into teams for social play team battle challenge. - Tournament Game Analysis : Study and analyze the tournament games of our students to learn from their mistakes, and know what could be done better. Even a won game has a number of mistakes too! Through this lesson, students will learn to pick up from where they fall, and become a stronger chess player - Positional/Evaluation : In a chess game, it is not all about tactics. You must also know how to play positional and strategical to solidify your structure. This lesson focus on how to build out your fortress and strengthen your position, as well as exploiting your opponent’s weaknesses.
