Is your child interested in learning how to code? Our Coding 4 Kids with Scratch course is designed for children in grades 2-4 who want to explore the world of programming. This Eight week course is perfect for beginners who are ready to start playing with code using MIT's Scratch coding platform.

In this course, your child will learn how to design and build game features using code blocks. They'll learn how coding can be used to solve puzzles and complex problems while creating fun games, animations, and music. Our instructors are experienced and passionate about teaching children how to code in an entertaining and sophisticated yet easy-to-learn environment.

The course is structured around student-centered learning with collaborative projects. Participants will interact with their peers and the instructor to complete group activities and assignments. Students will be comfortable using a keyboard or touchscreen to read and follow instructions.

The curriculum covers the basic principles of coding using drag and drop tools within Scratch. Students will learn how to use block-based programming tools to design and program projects. Our goal is to help children understand the fundamentals of software development in a fun and interactive way.

The course is structured with 55 minute class meetings, once a week for 8 weeks. Each class will include lecture, games, slides, and discussions to engage learners in a variety of ways. 

We believe that learning should be fun, and our teaching style reflects that. Our instructors are patient and encouraging, and they make sure to create a positive and supportive learning environment. We encourage students to ask questions and participate in discussions, and we provide individual feedback on assignments to help students improve.

Day 1 : Students will learn the basics of programming, collaboration techniques, investigation and critical thinking skills, persistence in the face of difficulty, and internet safety.

Day 2 :  Students will create programs with sequencing, loops, and events. They will investigate problem-solving techniques and develop strategies for building positive communities both online and offline. 

Day 3 : students will develop their understanding of algorithms, nested loops, while loops, conditionals, and more. They will code an animation.

Day 4: Students will share there interactive games and give constructive feedback

Day 5: Students will continue to learn more progressively difficult coding concepts while have fun with other children with similar interests

No prior experience or knowledge is required to participate in this course. However, participants should be comfortable using a keyboard or touchscreen to read and follow instructions. Our instructors will guide students through each step of the coding process and provide plenty of support and encouragement along the way.

English Language Requirement: This class is designed for students who can communicate comfortably in English at a basic to intermediate level (CEFR A2-B1). Students should be able to understand simple instructions, ask questions, and engage in discussions about their coding projects.
