This is an acting ritual that builds classroom community, but also provides students with the metaphorical “tools” that will be needed to become a successful performer. I am a full-time K-8 drama instructor at a local school in Wichita, KS. Theatre has always been an important part of my life. Growing up – I was fortunate to live in a community that placed immense value on this art form. My participation in theatre allowed me to come out of my shell and has fostered many meaningful friendships.
The 2020 school year created a necessity for online learning. I was initially a little worried about the feasibility of teaching drama remotely. As the year progressed, I found that online drama can still be a significant and powerful experience.
