US Grade Preschool - 1
Beginner Level
This class is taught by an occupational therapist. This class is perfect for the youngest learners. We meet twice a week, focusing on one group of letters each week. In the first session, we use printable worksheets to trace and then write each letter. In the second session, we play games and use the letters to write simple words. I use Handwriting Without Tears and the Size Matters Handwriting Program as my basis for all of my classes. I keep my classes structured but relaxed. I try to create a comfortable environment where my students are not afraid to make mistakes, where we can cheer each other on, and where we can laugh together. Handwriting is a complicated skill and it is my goal for it to be fun. Disclaimer: I am a retired occupational therapist with 20 years of experience woking with children. On Outschool I offer my services specifically in the role of handwriting instructor. My classes should not be considered therapeutic nor take the place of occupational therapy interventions by a licensed therapist.
