Beginner Level
The Earth has so many amazing biomes that support life! We will explore a variety of habitats through yoga. My passion teaching Kids Yoga incorporates themed-based classes, science, American Sign Language, and the Virginia Standards of Learning. Invite energy, balance, coordination, and strength. Discover ways to decrease stress through breath awareness and relaxation.
Learning Goals
Each class, students will learn about a specific biome/habitat and the life within. They will actively engage in yoga poses, gaining familiarity with the shapes and names. They will learn related American Sign Language vocabulary. Students will experience a variety of different breathing techniques to help them focus, energize, and relax in addition to having a short period of relaxation at the end of class.

Learning Needs
Yoga offers unique kinesthetic opportunities for kids who have ADHD and autism. It increases coordination, body awareness, focus, flexibly, and muscle strength. Yoga also helps give them greater self-confidence and ways to reduce anxiety.
Parental Guidance
Please ensure your student has a water bottle available. If you have a yoga mat and blanket, that’s great. There is always a risk of injury when engaging in any exercise. Please ensure your student follows all instructions and does not go beyond their limits to ensure they stay safe in their practices.
