Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Intermediate - Advanced Level
This class is designed for the space enthusiast, learners who are interested in space, have some knowledge about space, or wants to learn and practice space science related skills.

Objective: To introduce young learners to the wonders of space through fun and engaging discussions, activities, and interactive resources.

Learners will discover fascinating facts about space and there will be plenty of opportunities to promote talk as you look through the information and reading material with its attractive pictures and enticing text. Learn about and discuss the 8 big planets (4 terrestrial and 4 gas), the 5 dwarf planets, and the different possibilities of meteoroids, asteroids, and beyond.

I will always encourage an educational discussion and promote curiosity with the students. I will lead the discussion but will also ask their thoughts on what we're learning throughout the class. Whether it's a one-on-one class or a group environment, my number one goal of every session is to inspire a love of learning new things.

This is a highly interactive class, designed to follow learners’ curiosity, develop skills, and explore space science topics through discussion and hands-on activity. There is no prerequisite.

About me:

Hello! I’m an experienced and passionate English teacher with a proven track record of teaching in UK schools, Asian classrooms, and ESL programs worldwide. Coming from a mixed-race, multicultural background, I deeply understand the importance of embracing diversity and creating inclusive learning environments. This perspective shapes my teaching style, making my lessons both culturally rich and accessible to students from all walks of life.

Teaching Philosophy:

I believe every student is unique, and my teaching style reflects this. I create student-centered lessons where learners feel empowered to explore, ask questions, and engage actively. Whether teaching in a UK classroom or guiding ESL students in Asia, I adapt my approach to ensure inclusivity and success for all.

My Teaching Style:

Interactive and Engaging Lessons:

I use games, storytelling, and technology to make learning fun and memorable. From interactive apps like Kahoot and Quizlet to hands-on activities, I ensure my students enjoy their learning journey while achieving measurable progress.

Focus on Communication:

For me, language is about connection. Whether preparing students for Cambridge exams (Starters, Movers, Flyers, PET, KET) or day-to-day conversations, I balance grammar instruction with practical communication skills.

Culturally Responsive Teaching:

Growing up in a multicultural environment, I bring cultural relevance into the classroom, celebrating diversity and helping students see language as a tool for exploring the world.

Blended Learning:

I combine traditional teaching methods with modern tools to create dynamic lessons. Whether through phonics for young learners or advanced grammar for older students, I ensure every lesson is engaging and impactful.

Differentiation for All Abilities:

I tailor lessons to suit mixed-ability classes, providing scaffolding for struggling learners and challenging tasks for advanced students.

Experience and Expertise:

In UK Schools:

I have extensive experience teaching KS1 to KS4 learners, focusing on literacy, creative writing, and comprehension. I also support EAL (English as an Additional Language) students, helping them integrate and succeed academically.

In Asian Classrooms:

My time teaching in Asia has taught me how to bridge the gap between rote learning and critical thinking. I encourage students to express themselves creatively while respecting their learning culture.

As an ESL Teacher:

Teaching English as a Second Language is my passion. I specialize in preparing students for Cambridge English exams and designing lessons that make learning practical, fun, and confidence-boosting.

What Makes My Classroom Special:

A welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where students feel safe to take risks and learn from mistakes.
Regular feedback and encouragement to build confidence and track progress.
Lessons packed with visual aids, games, storytelling, and relatable examples to make language come alive.

Why I Love Teaching:

Helping students discover the power of language is incredibly rewarding. My multicultural background inspires me to connect with students from different cultures and help them find their voice. Whether it’s a shy beginner gaining confidence in speaking or an advanced student mastering a complex concept, I take pride in being part of their journey. I love sparking curiosity, encouraging critical thinking, and creating lessons that inspire students to learn and grow.
