This is a fun and interactive class where students will cover a high-level overview of an entire school year's worth of geography lessons! My goal is not only to teach students about geography but to leave them with a deeper understanding of how we are connected to the world around us. Classes are composed of video lessons, slideshows, detailed pictures, Blooket games, and conversation! No homework will be provided, but weekly notes will be added to the classroom page if students wish to do extra review work at home. JANUARY Week of January 7 - Landforms: Mountains and hills Week of January 14 - Landforms: Plateaux and plains Week of January 21 - Landforms: Canyons and caves Week of January 28 - Landforms: Valleys and basins FEBRUARY Week of February 7 - Bodies of water: Rivers, lakes, and ponds. Week of February 14 - Bodies of water: Glaciers and waterfalls Week of February 21 - Bodies of water: Beaches Week of February 28 - Continents: Asia and Africa MARCH Week of March 7 - Continents: North America and South America Week of March 14 - Continents: Antarctica and Europe Week of March 21 - Continents: Australia and world time zones. Week of March 28 - Weather patterns: Tornados and tsunamis APRIL Week of April 7 - Weather patterns: Drought, earthquakes, and landslides Week of April 14 - Ocean zones and weird sea creatures! Week of April 21 - Wonders of the world: The seven wonders of the world Week of April 28 - Wonders of the world: The seven wonders of the ancient world MAY Week of May 7 - Solar system: Planets + poor Pluto too! Virtual Mars tour. Week of May 14 - World climate: Rainforests and deserts Week of May 21 - Land use: Farms and agriculture. Wind farms and fish farming Week of May 28 - Land use: Pollution, global warming, and green-living tips and tricks!
