In this class, students will participate in various activities to help them learn about the eight planets in order from the sun.  

After watching a popular YouTube planets video, students will learn and practice a “jingle” for the order of the planets from the sun. "My Very Energetic Mother Just Served Us Noodles": Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. 

Students will also learn about, color and glue (or write) each of the planets' names together as a class. I include a variety of material and information throughout the lesson, and try to keep the pace moving quickly with minimal distractions or interruptions. Some material might seem advanced, but I include it anyway. In my experience, 6-9 year old learners are like learning sponges, able to absorb so much of what they hear when listening and focused.

Planets worksheet printed before class begins, scissors, crayons or colored pencils glue or tape. 

*Note- The printable worksheet is an important part of this class because after we "visit" and talk about each planet, learners complete activities on the worksheet. If you are unable to print the worksheet, please provide a few pieces of paper and crayons or colored pencils and position yourself nearby in case your learner needs help.
