Beginner Level
This class is an ongoing format. Students will sketch a new bird every week. Each week is charged as a subscription on Sunday mornings. Students can join or leave the series any week. Though prior attendance and knowledge of the subject is not required to attend, it is highly recommended that students take our Animal Pencil Sketching & Drawing Full Semester Beginners Fundamentals Course to benefit most effectively from this class: https://outschool.com/classes/8126f8db-a86d-4dd4-a0e1-63cddc851741 Each class will follow the step-by-step process: 1. They will concentrate on rendering the basic shapes of a bird in line only, then proceed to discover the various relationships between the lines, shapes and proportions of the bird. 2. They will learn to use a mixture of loose hatching and cross-hatching techniques to apply various color shades in order to create the form of the bird. 3. They will use art concepts of Color Theory together with techniques like blending, layering, gradations, hatching, etc. to build the tones, forms and texture of the bird. 4. The final step will be to unify the form, tones and texture of the image by deepening the shades and adding highlights to increase the contrast. Students will learn progressively to develop each bird by concentrating on uniting the art elements of line, shape, color, tone and texture. Once they built a solid foundation and keep practicing, they will be able to sketch a multitude of unique bird portraits. Classes are highly interactive and students will have the opportunity to socialize and share their ideas in a fun and upbeat environment.
