Are you interested in making your own digital animations, cartoons, or short clips but you're unsure where or how to begin? Made for first time learners, and taught in a slow yet measured pace, learn the foundations that will help you in using Procreate Dreams.

📱Procreate Dreams is a new and revolutionary app that allows artists of all skills levels to tell their own stories. It can be found exclusively on the Apple App Store for a one-time fee of 19.99 (USD), and it is necessary to use in this course.

🎨 Together we will create an animation each week building on the different tools and software found in Procreate Dreams. The animations will be easy to draw, made with simple shapes and forms reminiscent of the mid century style like that of artist Mary Blair and the UPA school. Students are also encouraged to create their own animation, too.

🚨 Important 🚨 To reduce eye strain and encourage movement, students will have a short break at the middle of class. Animation can be taxing on the body especially our eyes, and spine / posture, so it’s important students get a break between their creative work to stand up and stretch.

After the 12th week of instruction, the class will start again from week 1 with ✨NEW✨ animation challenges! These 12 weeks are loosely structured around the 12 principles of animation that can be found at the root of all motion-based media. Animation students learn firsthand about these principles and how to use them in their work, and each week your child will learn how to apply them in practice to the animations they create in and outside of class.
