Nivel Beginner - Advanced
In this 8 week course many of the typical 5th grade skills will be covered. Each lesson will be 50 minutes in length and will meet 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday). We will begin by reviewing place value, multiplication, and division. After reviewing skills needed to be successful in this course and future math endeavors, we will begin working on different skills such as fractions, polygons, units of time, area and volume, line plots, coordinate grids, order of operations, and we will even venture into algebraic thinking. I have outlined the specific lessons in the class syllabus. I will utilize some online curriculums such as Nearpod and Khan, video clips, games/puzzles, as well as some self created lessons. Lessons will consist of a mixture of teacher/student led discussions and interactions.
