In this class, we will be discussing the adventures of Zoey and her cat, Sassafras, as they try to help an injured animal that has shown up in her backyard. Can they find out what's wrong with this magical animal and help it get better in time? Let's find out together! Class will consist of instructor-directed discussion. Discussion topics will include the reader's favorite moments in the story, parts of the story they found the most exciting, or who their favorite characters were and why....
Education: BA in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Communication and minors in Philosophy and Theology from the University of St. Thomas Experience: More than 7 years as a homeschool parent, more than 30 years of being an avid reader, 3 years of writing fiction while meeting with published authors to discuss different aspects of writing and books, 6 previous high school-level classes taught on this platform in addition to several classes taught on the aspects of writing on Outschool as well as at local libraries for more than 2 years, I am also a Municipal Liaison for the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) program
Class 1: Chapters 1-5 (pages 5-34) Class 2: Chapters 6-10 (pages 34-64) Class 3: Chapters 11-14 (pages 65-95), book reports, and literary elements!
All students will need a copy of Zoey and Sassafras: The Pod and the Bog by Asia Citro. Book reports and the list of literary elements will be provided in the classroom.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
