As part of this book club, we will read the enchanting Zoey and Sassafras science series by Asia Citro! Inquisitive Zoey and her cat Sassafras uncover an amazing secret! She has magical creatures living right in her backyard! When they are injured or need help, they come to her. Through Zoey's explorations of how to help each magical creature, science concepts, and persistence are introduced in a fun and engaging manner. Each book features a new magical animal with a problem that must be solved by using science or solving a mystery. Zoey models how to use the scientific method and use a science journal. Students learn science in an effortless and very entertaining way!
As Zoey and Sassafras embark on their adventures, they discover a whole new world of magical creatures. From unicorns to dragons, these enchanting beings bring excitement and wonder to Zoey's scientific explorations.
In each book club meeting, we will discuss the chapters assigned. Extension activities will be provided to reinforce literary elements and science concepts!
