Some young learners find it hard to stop their bodies and thoughts from spinning. In this class we will learn in a calming space. We are going to practice to slow our breathing, refocus our thoughts and find still moments. When our minds are busy it is hard to learn and enjoy new experiences. When we learn to calm ourselves we can stop ourselves from getting frustrated or angry. We will know how to stop, take a moment to find the calm in the situation and begin again. I teach in a patient, understanding manner. If time allows we will be reading the book listed below. I have a BA in Child and Family from ISU. This class is not therapy based, nor is it intended to take the place of therapy. This class is to help young learners to focus and learn simple calming techniques such as deep breathing.
