In this class, learners will be taught a fun and energetic line dance! This line dance is inspired by a very exciting American Holiday: Labor Day! Students will learn a dance they can show family and friends when they gather to celebrate all who labor. This is a step-by-step and then review type of structured class that repeats movements in different directions. I will use mirror style teaching (facing students and using left side movements while students use right side movements) and verbal guidance as the dance moves along (left, right, jump, turn, ect.). In this flexible and interactive class, students do not need prior knowledge or experience as they will be encouraged to ask questions and make comments throughout the class!
Learning Goals
Students will use coordination and repetitive movements to enhance their memory!
Other Details
Parental Guidance
This class does not require shoes but should be taken in a safe and comfortable space that does not limit mobility. I encourage drinking water for hydration and clothing that is most comfortable for the learner to freely and easily move around in.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Mrs. Brittney or Mrs. B and I welcome you to my profile.
I have my degree in Early Childhood, and over 20 years of dance experience which includes teaching students of all ages many different styles of dance. Before the pandemic, I taught dance education in public and private schools, and represented Be Heard Through Movement as the main performer, dance teacher and choreographer. This year I celebrated my 2 year anniversary representing BHTM dance on Outschool!
I offer hip hop, ballet and creative movement dance classes to ages 5-10 and each class includes a steady pace of dance moves that encourage learning in the most creative ways. My enthusiastic teaching style is intended to inspire individuality, explore the art within & to be heard through movement.
My family's approach to learning is that there are many ways to "get it" and creativity, gentleness and connection play a huge role in that. In class, all students are seen, accepted and can never mess up. We will always dance our dances to be heard through movement!
I look forward to meeting you all!
