Clogging Terminology:
-----------------------------
1. Shuffle
2. Chug
3. Rock Step
4. Brush
5. Single, Double, Triple Step

Students will be introduced to the terminology and explained what it means in the clogging genre. They will be asked to repeat the terms for proper articulation and then shown and guided through movement in how to present these terms.

Dance Combination Moves:
--------------------------------------------
This portion of the class combines the terminology and the dance moves to create dance sentences. Repetition of the dance moves will help exercise to help their memorization (muscle memory); the major key to developing a dance. We will practice each term 2 to 3 times. (more if necessary).

There is no time set aside for questions or comments, however, they are encouraged to speak up and are welcome to express their thoughts and ideas during class. Students do not need to have any previous experiences or knowledge as the class structure is the perfect introduction and reminder to patters the "dancey" way!
Learning Goals
The goal is for students to understand the foundation of clog dance, its origin and the evolution of the genre that allows dance to explore more "up to date" movements, choreography and music by combining the basics with creativity. They will learn rhythm and musicality and increase their coordination, muscle memorization and spatial awareness.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Clogging is one my favorite styles of dance! I appreciated growing into the country music genre and I am thankful for my artistic director for allowing me and my team to branch out and clog to almost anything! That is the greatest thing about dance - diversity!

Dance has so many things to offer and I can appreciate how much I was able to incorporated in to my real life. I am grateful to have learned life skills and lessons, such as the importance of relationships, commitment, exercise, challenges, integrity, sportsmanship, and so much more. I believe that everyone can benefit from dance. It has a way of encouraging individuality, and I do my best to provide tools and knowledge students need to explore their individuality and the art within through movement. I humbly admit I have never been injured in my dance career and that I support and believe it is due to technique and the proper ways to present movement; all of which I pour into my students.
