Class Experience

Beginner Level
In this project-based course, use your learned set of repertoire to create a concert set and invite your friends and family to participate.

We will work through all the promotion materials, video creation, and promotion so you have a great attendance. We will practice your sets so you feel comfortable and confident for the spotlight. We will discuss what it means to be performance ready and how we know our created set makes sense. The audience will love it!

So create a great flyer! Create a promo video

With a host of repertoire, which songs go better with others, and why will that set of pieces work together to make a great experience for the audience?

Essential Questions:
1. How do performers select repertoire?
2. How does understanding the structure and context of musical works inform performance?
3. How do musicians improve the quality of their performance?
4. How do individuals choose music to experience?
5. How do we discern the musical creators’ and performers’ expressive intent?
6. How do musicians make meaningful connections to creating, performing, and responding?
Learning Goals
Demonstrate and explain personal reasons for selecting patterns and ideas for their music that represent expressive intent.
MU:Cr3.2.2a Convey expressive intent for a specific purpose by presenting a final version of personal musical ideas to peers or informal audience.

Parental Guidance
Performing a musical instrument will add to the sound levels of your environment. Be prepared for an increase in the sound levels and prepare the learner for a focused lesson as well as other members in the environment who are engaged in other activities that may require a lower sound experience. Learners may need your assistance to search for guitar music, or make purchases. Purchasing music is not required as there are teacher-created course materials. However, this is all how the learner wants to experience this guided music performance project experience.
