Youth Cheerleading Basics!

Young aspiring cheerleaders will learn and perfect the basic motions needed to be on that school or competitive cheer team!

Class Experience

Students will learn the basic motions in cheerleading (High V, Touch Down, Punch up, etc..). We will cover sharpness and technique, both of which will make you a stronger and more effective cheerleader. Students will begin with a stretch to warm up the body and then go into the basic moves listed above and more. I will demonstrate specific moves for students and they will be asked to model them back. I will be able to critique them on how the move should look and feel. Great for young beginners or refresher for advanced; no experience needed! Open to all ages.

Other Details

Parental Guidance

This is not a high-risk topic however, it is an active class and students should be able to move around freely in an open space. Parents should remain within earshot in case of rare injury.

Supply List

An open space to workout, sneakers or close toed shoes, workout clothing, and a water bottle!

External Resources

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hi all! 

I'm so excited to continue my career as an Art teacher through Outschool! I am certified in New York State to teach all Visual Arts classes for ages K-12 and have my Masters Degree in Art Education. I have experience with all grades and absolutely LOVE kids!

-Studio Art
-Cartooning 

These are only a few specialty subjects I've taught outside of grade school art. My personal favorite mediums to work with are watercolor paint and pencil. 

In my teaching experience, I've been able to offer both beginner and advanced sections of all my classes and sincerely enjoyed every minute of it. My teaching style revolves around making a positive and motivational rapport with my students and creating a space where they can exceed their own expectations. It's truly my pride and joy to watch my students grow! 

A little about me... I was born and raised in New York but recently moved to Hawaii from Florida because my family proudly serves in the military. I have two little cats and a puppy who I adore and love to take pictures of. I might just be a crazy cat lady! I've had the privilege to travel around the world as well as work as a group leader for a teen travel camp over the past 3 summers. I've been a high school cheerleading coach for the past 6 years and would be more than happy to provide private coaching lessons as well!
