Class Experience

This fun and interactive class will have children learning prepositions of place by acting them out throughout the tea party. The class will be interactive. Students may need space to move about a bit. Bonus if they have an area set up for a tea party!
Upon arrival, students will introduce themselves and their stuffed animal they have brought with them.
I will then give an introduction to common prepositions of place. They will then be guided through the tea party to practice using these prepositions by using their props and through their actions. Children will have the chance to create their own use of prepositional phrases and to share with their classmates.
This class is a perfect introduction to prepositions of place. No prior knowledge is needed!

Learning Goals

Children will practice using prepositions of place such as: under, over, on, in, around, behind. They will demonstrate that they understand these words through actions and their own use of them in class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
I am Ms. Marie, a lover of learning, playing and creating! I have been doing these things all of my life, and been sharing them with learners of all ages for 13 years!

I have been a "teacher" all of my life (babysitter, camp counselor, resident assistant, Peace Corps volunteer), but formally, I have been teaching since 2009. Much of my experience comes from teaching 3, and 4-year old children in a private preschool, and I have taught 1st and 2nd grade.

My strength as a teacher comes from teacher my ability to follow the interest of my learners and to create meaningful, play-based learning experiences in my classes. My classes incorporate literacy, numeracy, science and social studies in hands on ways so that learners can explore, create and engage with materials and each other. Whether a journaling class, a preschool class or a games camp, I have a ton of energy and loads of enthusiasm! I look forward to meeting you in my classroom!
