This camp is geared towards the young actor who desires to bring their acting skills to the next level. No previous acting experience is required. This camp is beginner orientated but not too slow for those who have had some past theatrical experience. Each camp sessions starts off with a super fun vocal/movement warm-up, using various exercises focusing to strengthen the actors speaking voice (Speech, diction and articulation). During the time we will also spend time warming up our bodies, releasing tension and stress from the body while preparing for the work ahead. After the warm-up, our actors will participate in a series of constantly rotating fun and educational acting exercises, which will focus on a specific acting technique. (Sense memory, focus, visualizing etc.) Halfway through each class learners will apply the instructed technique of the day to a selected short winter themed play. During this rehearsal time actors will be encouraged to make strong character choices as well as learn how to effectively make the words they are speaking come to life. At the end of each class the instructor will assign homework for the next day. Students will receive ample feedback form the other students and the teacher on how to improve their performances.
