Students will work along with professional puppeteer Mike Harding to create their very own puppet show! Readily available materials will be used. The teaching environment is relaxed, encouraging, inclusive and respectful.

Mike Harding of Applefun Puppetry has been performing for over 20 years. He has conducted thousands of shows at libraries, schools, and birthday parties. Mike studied Improvisational Comedy at Second City which adds a unique and spontaneous flavour to his shows. Outcomes: - Help kids to build confidence - Introduce a new and unique art form - Provide an outlet for creativity and expression - Emphasize the connection between puppetry and other fields like engineering, business, and community engagement - Encourage kids to continue to work after the program to create more puppets, stories, and puppet shows - Provide a unique way for kids to engage with their community - Offer the creation of a puppet show as an alternative to "screentime" (and/or suggest screens as an outlet for puppet shows) - Inspire the next generation of artists!
