Description
Class Experience
This one time class takes a deep look on the visual representations of infinity as shown through the work of Yayoi Kusama. Learners who have taken my MC Escher tessellations class will deepen their comprehension and experience of the infinite concepts and explored in that course. With that said, this course is fun and engaging for any intermediate level student artist. Kusama’s incredible attention to detail through shape will emphasized through paintings, drawings, and her famous “infinity...
Students will practice pattern diversification through color, shape, and contrast. A completed drawing or sculpture at the conclusion of class will indicate some degree of success of these experiences. Learners will also have access to the instructor’s presentation after class for further research or sharing with family, deepening their understanding and confidence with the class content
Paper and the learner’s preferred drawing tools. Instructor will be demonstrating with markers and printer paper —Optional: glue, scissors, and additional cardboard or paper
Through group discussion and visual thinking strategies, learners will begin to dissect and analyze the properties and thematic elements Kusama uses that can be applied to their own work. At the end of class participants will have a drawing or a sculpture as a further application of these infinity- based experiments.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will receive access to all presentation materials through link provided in the chat notes as well as classroom page for further research and discovery.
