What's included
4 live meetings
3 hrs 40 mins in-class hoursHomework
There is no assigned homework. However, students will be inspired and encouraged to find resources that could be used to make a puppet theater.Class Experience
Using a variety of media (books, video), the teacher will share the featured Fairy Tale. Students will then color, cut and attach their puppet to the lunch style paper bag. While doing this, the class will discuss the story and what makes it a Fairy Tale and not a Fable or Tall Tale. I'll also share with them where in the world these stories originated and some versions with similar themes set in other locations than the one attributed as the original. As time allows, students will be encouraged to make scenery or any attachments needed for the puppets. The teacher will encourage a puppet theater to be created outside of class. A large box from an appliance store would be so fun to use. Lesson 1: Little Red Riding Hood Lesson 2: Cinderella Lesson 3: Jack & the Beanstalk Lesson 4: Hansel & Gretel IF YOU WANT TO SCHEDULE A PRIVATE CLASS OR A BIRTHDAY PARTY, PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE.
Learning Goals
CC.2.RL.2 Recount stories, including fables and folktales from diverse cultures, and determine their central message, lesson, or moral.
My biggest goal for this class is that students would be creative and have fun.
