US Grade 6
6th grade is a transitional year for students when it comes to writing. They are being introduced to essays and research for the first time and practicing how to include evidence to support their ideas. In this course, students learn how to construct different types of writing from the ground up. Starting with parts of speech and paragraph writing, students refresh their knowledge of these basic elements before diving into personal narratives, RACE response, essay writing, research, and short stories. The lessons include videos, guided notes, Blooket, online games, and practice activities. For the writing assignments, students get step-by-step instructions, graphic organizers, topic choices and more. Throughout the course students will submit writing assignments for teacher feedback. The instructor will send progress reports on Fridays if work has been completed.
