30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this fun-filled class, beginning writers will learn to describe their furry friends by following the example of the teacher. Students will complete a writing map describing their animal by items such as color, physical features, habitats, and character traits (real or make believe!) After completing a writing map, students will share a description of their animals with fellow learners and tell us all about their beloved friend. Students will focus on using complete sentences and thoughts as they share their ideas. For success in this class, it is best if students are able to be independent writers (assistance will be given with spelling, however.)
Learning Goals
Students will identify different adjectives used to describe common stuffed animals. Students will share sentences that have a complete thought or idea.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Since I was a young girl I wanted to be a teacher! I love teaching children about topics that excite me! I was a classroom teacher for 11 years teaching between 4th graders and middle schoolers! After becoming a mom I left the brick and mortar classroom to be home with my 2 growing boys, but missed being in the classroom. I then began teaching English to foreign students online and have once again fell in love with teaching in a new and exciting way! I am excited to bring this excitement to Outschool where I can teach about topics that excite me! I'm not only a Outschool teacher, but a mom to 2 Outschool learners!
