Writing Tutor: Essays & Creative Writing (Certified Teacher Grades 7-12)

Writing is an important lifelong skill that is used in a variety of settings, industries and careers. It is a skill that will be highly utilized throughout a learner’s life. In this one time private tutoring class, we will work on either academic or creative writing pursuits. The class focus is determined based on the needs and goals of the individual learner.

Whether the learner is looking to improve grammar, needs general proofreading help or guidance on how to decipher academic paper requirements, I am here to help. My goal is always to provide the learner with meaningful and actionable feedback that leads to constant writing growth.

Each lesson will start by first determining the learner’s needs and goals for the session. From there, the process can range from brainstorming, building an outline, revising or editing a learner’s writing, or determining the requirements of an academic writing prompt. The session will always be different in order to meet the needs of the learner. At the end of each lesson, I will summarize the lesson and provide actionable goals for the learner.

Every learner should message after scheduling their tutoring session to discuss their needs prior to our first meeting. This provides context on the overall focus for the lesson and allows me to provide more individualize instruction.
