Please note: Parents should message me with background info about the learner when they register so that I can plan for our lessons. Thanks!

This is a 50-minute, one-to-one tutoring class that meets daily, Monday through Friday for one week.

During our sessions, students will be given help in developing writing topics covering the main types of academic essays. Students will complete most of the writing independently in class, though occasional homework may be required before the next class. I'll provide guidance and feedback, as well as guide the learner through the revision process. Throughout these sessions, I'll also share graphic organizers and charts to help learners master the structure of essays, prompt learners to use transition words and phrases as they compose their essays, and learn to evaluate their own writing by means of the provided checklists.

(Please note: You may register your child for this multi-day class to work on school writing assignments or creative writing, as well. We can amend the topics covered and meeting times accordingly!)

Through my 22-plus years of teaching experience, I have taken pride in my role as a writing coach. Developing warm relationships with my students is important, and I get great joy when former students visit or message me to brag about how well they are doing because of the writing skills they mastered in my classes. Part of the learning process also involves chatting with your child to learn more about their likes, dislikes, strengths, etc.

Learning Goals

The learner will receive one-on-one guidance and practice to gain stronger proficiency in essay writing and revision.
