Writing: Kindergarten, 1St, 2nd Grade

Students will learn and develop concepts of print, practice writing words, and sentences. The teacher will provide explicit instruction through modeling, support, and individualized practice.

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Week of Sept 1-7: Students will learn about journals and concepts of print. Students will practice retelling information and sharing a memory that they recall. Students will practice writing through journal entries.

Week of Sept 8-14: Students will continue to learn about concepts of print and begin to understand that words carry meaning. Students will learn about letters that make words and practice making words for their writing.

Week of Sept 15-21: Students will continue to learn about concepts of print, combine letters to make words, and listen for and recognize beginning sounds in words. Students will continue to practice writing.

Supply List
Students will need pencils, an eraser, blank paper, or a PDF from class. Outside of class, they will need crayons to complete their writing. In class, we will focus on learning about writing. After class, they can add color to their drawings. Folder to keep their writing.
If you are unable to print the writing paper, you can use blank paper.
