We will complete one step a day covering topic sentences, evidence, signal phrases, commentary, transitions and clincher sentences. Students will watch lecture videos, practice skills, and help each other by sharing examples of their work and providing feedback through classroom discussion.

All assignments will be posted on Sunday evenings at 10 am EST. There is a schedule students can follow, but they can do the work whenever they like during the week. All work must be submitted by Saturday at 10 am EST.

I have taught English and been an educational therapist for over 20 years. I have a Bachelors degree in English with a minor in marketing. I earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction as well as an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. I’ve taught Language Arts, English, Creative Writing, and Theatre at the middle school and high school level. I am certified in English as a Second Language and Special Education.

Learning isn’t always easy and it take time and hard work. It’s not about being perfect the first time, but trying and learning from our mistakes. I am not a perfect person and I don’t expect my students to be perfect. Every student has different strategies that meet their specific needs.

I currently live in Florida and have an adult daughter living and working in the theatre in New York City. I love visiting her and spending time in the city, but I am always happy to arrive back home to my little Florida town.
