Class Experience

Complete a full story in 90 minutes

Dear students and parents

In this club everyone who attends will be put into a position to write a full story.  We will start the class by coming up with some basic concepts, characters and a scene.  We will then develop a beginning, middle and end to the story followed by each student taking the ideas and developing a class version and then can write their own personal version of the story.  

Each class will last 90 minutes and for the first 30 we will brainstorm, go over basics of character and plot development and decide on what we want to write.  For the last hour, we will write the story.  Everyone will contribute ideas and together we will complete a story.  After class, your children can take that story, expand upon it as well as use the skills learned in class to create more and more stories, improving their skills and their love of writing.

Each week we will come up with different story ideas and if your child remains in the club can soon have a portfolio of short stories they can eventually publish as a collection. 

This club is meant to be fun, educational and help build on the basic skills they want to learn.  So, if you are interested in writing, lets jump in and write a story together.

Learning Goals

Learn different ways of thinking about their stories and the way that they write.  I want them to walk away with increased love of writing and skills that they can transfer into their regular classrooms.

Hello!

I am going to be teaching some fun and entertaining classes.  I will have classes that involve reading, writing, creative thinking, technology, games and so much m ore.  I will also be teaching fun and entertaining classes with my Wife and Granddaughter so your kids can also ask questions and learn from people on their level as well.

I am English, Technology and ESL teacher.  I have over 10 years experience teaching children as well as adults.  I decided to join the OutSchool platform because it will allow me to offer some fun and unique classes that other teaching platforms just won't let us teach.
