Beginner - Advanced Level
In this 4-week class students will learn essay writing and structure. Argumentative, Expository, Persuasive and Narrative writing. Focus: Thesis Statements and how to properly concise their writing to match the thesis statement based on standards. Transition statements to flow the essay accordingly and provide direction for writing. Counterclaims and how to effectively and logically provide a claim to enhance their argument. Utilizing sources provide to cite throughout writing and back their claims made in thesis statements. Conclusions and wrapping up their writing without providing unneccsesary information. Students will utilize planning and drafting, revising and editing, and how to effectively use all these steps before publishing or submitting for the best possible outcome.

Hello Parents and students! My name is Mrs. Leyah and I am so excited to enrich your learning experience with more skills for you to take with you and progress.
I am a secondary English Language Arts with a degree from the University of Florida. I currently live in Florida (EST) and work in middle school teaching. I have worked in high school and middle school for the last 5 years.
I have taught reading and writing and emphasize my teaching to develop students writing skills to match benchmarks and beyond. My students have made progress in many forms of skill levels and grade levels.
I have worked with ELL (English Language Learners) and ESE (Exceptional Student Education) students and focus on utilizing accomodations to match the students learning style and needs.
I am looking forward to working with all needs and skills and develop them for lifetime achievements!
I am married with 3 cats and 1 dog and love reading new books in my free time as well as, coaching volleyball.
