Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5
This ongoing full curriculum class will be taught by a certified teacher, focusing on TWO literacy skills each week. Reading and writing together! Our first day will focus on reading comprehension. Our second day will focus on learning criteria for writing an essay with genres such as informative, persuasive, or opinion to name a few. The reason reading and writing should be taught together is so that the reading comprehension skill is reinforced in their writing. Students get a chance to practice that same reading skill while it’s fresh in their mind as they become the author the next class time. In this class students will see that there are many reasons for writing and that writing has different criteria. They will also learn research-based strategies for practicing reading comprehension skills.

Although this class is designed as a full-curriculum class, learners can join the class and leave the class at their convenience. Each class is a stand alone class, so no need to attend all of the classes listed. Learners can come and go as they please.
