US Grade 4 - 6
By now in your schooling, you have heard a few grammar and writing rules. Taking another grammar class could be super exciting for you, but not everyone loves taking more than 100 grammar and writing classes. (Did you spot the hyperbole?) That's why the WAG Game Show is coming your way. (WAG=writing and grammar) WAG is the up and coming new hit game show. Contestants will play games to win fictitious prizes, hear the cheers from the adoring audience, and most of all, capture the fame. I know this sounds intimidating so I set up a day to prepare before the big day. Each week, we will meet 2 times. The first day we will review the skill of the week through fun practice activities and a game. I will provide a resource document for you to keep forever. The second day is all about the hype! You will take part in the new, popular game show, WAG! (insert cheering) WAG is more than Plinko, Name your Price, or a trivia contest. There are so many games, you will never go hungry again. (Wait, I think that is a line from a musical.) Anyway, this new style of class will help build your grammar and writing skills. It is true, if you don't use it, you lose it. Keep on writing to keep your writing muscles buff. I use Gimkit and Blooket as game platforms. Most of the activities, I created myself. Players do not need an account to play on Gimkit or Blooket. Many of my past contestants enjoy having the accounts to keep the fun prizes they earn playing the games. Accounts are free. A guardian needs to set up the account with an email address. See you soon! Fall Schedule: Week of September 11 Homophones 1 Week of September 19 Capitalization Week of September 26 Contractions and Connectors Week of October 2 Nouns and Adjectives Week of October 9 Plural Nouns Week of October 16 Possessive Nouns Week of October 23 Verbs and Adverbs Week of October 30 Homophones 2 Week of November 6 Past, Present, and Future Verbs Week of November 13 Similes and Metaphors Week of November 20 Suffixes Week of November 27 Vocabulary with Synonyms and Antonyms Week of December 4 Prefixes Week of December 11 Check that Grammar (Editing) Week of December 18 Personification and Hyperboles Week of December 25 Winter Break-No classes Week of January 1 I will contact parents to see if anyone is interested in classes during this week. I am available. Week of January 8 Alliteration and Onomatopoeia Week of January 15 Word Dissection and Powerful Words (Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) Week of January 22 Oxymorons and Idioms I am planning this schedule during the summer. I will add more weeks later in the year. This is an ongoing class, so the game shows will keep coming week after week. If you need a break from all the fame and fortune, you can stop your subscription, relax on the beach, and come back at anytime. Do you know what it means when a class is marked ongoing? Each week's classes are independent. A fresh activity occurs each week. Learners do not need prior experience from past classes. Learners can subscribe and stay for all the classes while other learners may drop in from time to time. The enrollment fee is automatically deducted from your account on a weekly basis. The enrollment fee covers both sessions for the upcoming week. It is easy to stop the subscription. In my classes, I enjoy seeing learners every week and I also enjoy meeting new students. It is easy to come and go in any of my ongoing classes. I also understand that life is busy. If you miss the "stop subscription" deadline for the week, just contact me. I am able to provide refunds. This is something special I do for my learners' families. Please also know, I understand life is expensive. If finances get in the way of enrollment, send a message to me. We can work out a price that fits your budget.

I will infrequently use YouTube through the Outschool platform so no other ads or videos are shown. Students will not enter YouTube themselves. We will play Gimkit games. Students do not need an account to play. I will have a secret code to enter on the website to get into our personal game. Canva, Google Drive, and Scratch are optional for students to use to present their ideas. It is not necessary for students to utilize these resources. Canva, Google Drive, and Scratch all have free versions that require an account. Students can simply write in the chat box or write on paper instead of using those 3 resources. Finally, I will use Baamboozled as a way to present material. Students will not enter the website. I will share my screen and will be the only one that has access to clicking the game show questions.
