In this ongoing class, the students will work on writing during each class. At the beginning of class the students will get a new topic and we will discuss the steps needed to do that activity using first, next, then, last. How would you teach someone else to do that task? The students will then write one or two sentences for each step. When the writing is complete, the students will share their stories, if they feel comfortable doing so. ~Students will use social skills in a pre-writing discussion by taking turns while sharing ideas. ~Students will use creative skills to draw illustrations to match their story. ~Students will use handwriting skills to write sentences. ~Students will use spelling strategies to write words and sentences. ~Students will use communication skills by sharing their finished piece of writing, if they feel comfortable doing so.
