This class will teach the fundamentals of effective essay writing. Students will write an essay about whether Minecraft is good or bad for kids. This essay will include a strong argument, analysis of evidence, and a clear conclusion. Students will read an article about Minecraft as a group in class; highlighting relevant information as they read. Next, they will create an outline, which they will use to draft a well-structured short essay response to this question. My goal is to foster a love of writing and a sense of confidence in each student about their own unique writing style. No prior experience with writing essays is required for this class, just a basic understanding of sentence structure. Class participation is encouraged.
