Writing About Science Using Pictures and Inquiry focuses on communicating our understandings of science topics Students will use critical thinking for analyzing, inferring, and observing real-life science in photographs. Targeted skills include making observations and growing scientific vocabulary, writing definition and explanations and completing a graphic organizer. Students will learn to look at pictures and see the science behind them. A picture of a butterfly becomes one on biology and the lifecycle as well as environmental science. With inquiry, we will seek to complete the weekly graphic organizer by exploring ideas using the internet and our own knowledge. This class reinforces what students already knows and helps them mine for new information too!
Homework Offered
Student are asked to write out what they have learned using the Writing Plan made in class. They can submit their work after class for feedback.Assessments Offered
