Beginner - Advanced Level
Each class is uniquely designed to cater to the needs of your learner. Through discussions, brainstorming, engaging slide presentations, supplemental videos, and one on one guided instruction through writing prompts, I will coach your student not only to progress in their novel or story, but to take their writing to the next level.
Learning Goals
Each learner will be evaluated individually and a plan of action will be taken whether for a one time tutoring session or long term. May goal is to take their writing to the next level, no matter what that next level is. Classes may be suggested for maximum learning.
In this 1:1 novel writing section (or small group of friends with the same goal,) I will evaluate the current story or start at the beginning with a brainstorming session. We will learn and develop the 4 elements of story: theme, characterization, setting, plot.
Through one-on-one tutoring or small group classes, I partner with parents in education to empower students with confidence to take their writing to the next level. As your instructor, I commit to creating an environment where each learner's voice can be released to tell the story only he or she can. I’ll provide the tools and motivation for each learner to make his or her writing dream come true. My guidance will inspire each voice to be released and my instruction will shape ideas into a cohesive and impactful creative or academic message. When you commit and do the work, you will release your story within.

Book Authority - "Best Fiction Writing Books of All Time" Winner: "Release the Novel in You!"
My love of writing started when I was 8 years old and hasn't stopped.
I'm a published author, writing teacher, and tutor who's worked with gifted and struggling kids for over 20 years. I saw a gap and a need when it came to essay and writing creative writing, so from my knowledge as a published writer in fiction and nonfiction magazine writing, I developed fun programs to engage learners to write powerfully and effectively. The techniques seemed to work with kids who loved writing as well as those who didn't. I'm excited to bring my programs online to an even bigger audience.
What parents and other teachers are saying:
"Gina draws out the writer hiding within you... no matter how deep down that writer is buried within. I highly recommend Gina as writing instructor." Ronee, mom of reluctant teen writer
Gina is a phenomenal writing teacher! We have loved working with her. We have a range of ages and she is great at adapting to their ages and learning styles. She's very patient and good at helping them focus. My kids have learned so much and been stretched and challenged in the area of writing. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to advance in any area of writing! - Bethany mother of 4
"All writers, regardless of their age or level, need to understand the nuances of story, the layers of a character, how to put a scene together as well as how to wordsmith their stories. Enter Gina Conroy's terrifically fun and creative course for teens-Release the Novel in You! From its engaging and fun presentation, delightful acronyms, playful look at analyzing a story and application sections, it takes the rules out writing and turns it back into what it should be—fun! Practical and specific, it covers everything from story structure to characterization, to the hero's journey to writing fixes—everything an intermediate writer needs to take their story from an idea on the page to a novel." - Susan May Warren, Award-winning novelist and writing coach
