This class is led by an occupational therapist, sharing tips and techniques to make handwriting help accessible to all here on Outschool. Join Write With An OT: Letters And Numbers For Young Learners and meet Shaayna - The Handwriting Tutor today! This 30-minute handwriting session includes live instruction and feedback while completing structured handwriting opportunities to form letters and numbers correctly. Learners engage in a sequence of identifying vertical/horizontal/curved/diagonal lines found in the weekly letters and number to assist with form constancy; followed by a visual motor activity using paper pieces to construct letter and number forms; continuing with a sensory play opportunity with an emphasis on creating letter/number form in chosen medium; ending with short level appropriate writing activity to form weekly letters and number on primary lined worksheet to promote handwriting skills. Learners review left and right discrimination, pencil and paper placement, line awareness and page boundaries, letter formation and letter types, and spacing of letters and words. This ongoing meeting is for a single learner; up to 6 learners may enroll in this section. New learners are welcome to join, pause, withdraw at any time.
