Each week, students practice writing various styles of sentences while playing with Story Cubes. Story Cube images are great writing prompts. Students should have previously learned the four main structures and four main types of sentences.

Students will feel more confident in writing stand alone sentences to express their ideas in various forms of communication (social media, emails, chats, etc.) and in academic work.
I have a MFA in nonfiction writing. I have taught academic writing in English at universities in Ecuador, Costa, and South Korea.
Homework Offered
After each class, students should post an original sentence in the class site to practice the lesson. In addition, student can read and comment on classmates’ sentences.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
** Students should be able to type sentences independently to fully participate in the class. Or, students should take photo of handwritten sentences and email the photo to teacher after class.
