US Grade 4 - 6
This class has been designed to help reluctant writers construct a simple Persuasive Essay during this 55-minute class. The class will commence with a discussion about the components of basic paragraph structure and elements. We will then focus on and examine how a Persuasive Paragraph/Essay is composed by viewing the instructor's exemplar. Next, we will discuss strategies that can be used to write a successful Persuasive Essay. The strategies that we will discuss and use are reasons, logic, emotion, or ethics. Students will have an opportunity to share their final products with their classmates by reading them aloud or by submitting a TYPE-WRITTEN draft to me for critique. PLEASE NOTE: Students should be familiar with writing three-paragraph essays prior to enrolling in this class.
Learning Goals
