Writing is an essential part of every student’s educational path, and the need to write both creatively and clearly grows with each grade. This 1 day workshop is here to transform the writing process from a chore into something practical and fun. Jump in and join this one-day workshop designed to help you WRITE NOW! It will help learners get the engine of ideas running by exploring how writing “rules” actually fosters our creativity. WHAT TO EXPECT: GROUP WARM UP GAMES - used to invite spontaneity, imagination and creativity. UNIQUE WRITING PROMPTS- used to emphasize the basics of storytelling and individuality leading to a 1 minute written piece that can be transformed into any number of genres; song, short story or a sonnet. Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a temperamental writer and know all too well what it's like to procrastinate, while wanting desperately to express myself through this form. I am not alone. Most writers have taken years, a lifetime to establish a framework for expressing themselves through writing that works for them. It's a journey that much like the creative writing process takes twists and turns, up hills and through valleys. Learning to embrace that journey can make the difference between starting and procrastination.
I've learned it takes time, effort, practice, flexibility, grace and some peer support along the way.
