Handwriting is hard! Handwriting is an important skill that is not easy for many learners. This class will help your learner become confident and enjoy handwriting! In this ongoing course we will have fun learning how to write our letters. We will practice pencil grip, letter formation, and include beginning letter sounds. Each class we will review the components of a letter. (Big line, little line, big curve, little curve). We will learn a fun song to remember to start our letters at the top and have movements to remember how to write our letters. Each learner will learn proper posture for writing and how to use our helper hand. Letters will not be taught in alphabetical order but will be taught by their characteristics and our natural way of learning letters. This class is ESL friendly and is set up for special needs students as well! My Teaching Background I taught handwriting without tears in school for two years and then taught my own two kiddos to write. My oldest has special needs and I will be using the same method in my class. I am able to teach right and left handing writing because I am left-handed while my own children are right handed. Many children are not taught the correct way or have poor handwriting. Teaching the shape of the letters aids in letter identification and reading as well.
