Description
Class Experience
In this poetry course, we meet two times in the same week to write an original wish poem. We will have the opportunity to read aloud, write creatively, and practise drafting skills. In our first session we will read a wish poem together as a group and discuss its style. We will have time as authors for a few days working independently before meeting again for our final session where we share our poems. In our sessions together we will consider such poetic elements as rhythm and rhyme....
Student will read and comprehend a style of poetry known as the wish poem. Students will write an original poem.
Learners are expected to write their own draft of a wish poem outside of class between session 1 and session 2.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal assessment.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
