US Grade 1 - 3
Learners will write a five-line cinquain poem to share a Mother's Day message with someone special in their lives. We'll start by looking at examples of cinquain poetry, and then each student will write a personalized poem, one line at a time. For each line, we'll have lists of sample words and phrases to help learners brainstorm what to write, with lots of encouragement along the way. Students will have the option to read the poem to the class and to send the poem to Tracy after class for additional feedback.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about cinquain poetry, word choice, and lyricism.
