In this 2 day course, students will have the opportunity to write a fractured fairy tale script for "Little Red Riding Hood" and perform it.

Students will be taught what a fractured fairy tale is. We will go over the original fairy tale of "Little Red Riding Hood" discussing the characters and plot. We will then decide as a group what changes we will make to the original fairy tale to make it a fractured fairy tale. Students will all help to write a story with a basic plot of how they would like the story to go. We will then write a script using inferencing skills to determine how a character might act and what they might say. After the script is complete, we will read and edit the script before our final performance.
Learning Goals
Students will analyze characters to determine what a character might say or do. Students will practice fluent oral reading skills when performing the script.
