US Grade 1 - 4
Opinion writing is critical and a part of the standards for all grade levels. This course is designed to help students develop their skills in a fun and engaging way through the popular game "Would You Rather?". Students will explore different scenarios, considering the pros and cons of each option and using critical thinking to form their own opinions. Through class discussions and teacher modeling, students will learn to express their thoughts clearly and persuasively. They will also learn how to support their opinions with reasons and evidence, as well as how to respectfully disagree with others. The class is suitable for students of all skill levels and will help them to build confidence in their writing abilities while having fun

Teacher expertise and credentials
Ohio Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I am a license teacher and have 14 years of teaching experience ranging from Kindergarten through Second Grade teaching writing. I have attended multiple professional development conferences and trainings with the Ohio Writing Project as well. This method is the same one I use in my classroom to teach and develop a love of learning with my students. My students love this so much that they ask to do a "Would you rather...?" each week.
