US Grade 4 - 6
In this class, we will do a variety of puzzles that manipulate words in different ways. There are many math challenges out there, but this is for those that love words! This class can expand your vocabulary and your linguistic thinking. Learners will be encouraged to share their thought processes so that others can also learn strategies to solve these puzzles. Expect to be challenged! Monday - Analogies Tuesday - Find the missing letter in a series of words Wednesday - Transforming words one letter at a time to a different word Thursday - Add a letter, make a new word Friday - Discover the hidden "phrase" in a word puzzle. If the class has more than 2 learners in the class, some answers will be given via chat directly to the teacher so that slower learners have time to work on the puzzle before it is solved. Students will be encouraged to share their thought processes so that others can learn from them and they can learn strategies from others as well. New, fun challenges everyday throughout the week.
