Fable
In this session storytellers will create their own fable and include a moral. Each session includes a mini lesson about the elements needed for the story, a short reading, time to write and illustrate. Plus, there is a bonus craft that goes along with the story (think Pinterest or arts and crafts).

Lesson 2
Fairytales
In this session storytellers write a fairytale. Each session includes a mini lesson about the elements needed for the story, a short reading, time to write and illustrate. Plus, there is a bonus craft that goes along with the story (think Pinterest or arts and crafts).

Nursery Rhymes

  • Students will apply figurative language found in literature to enhance written and oral presentations.
  • Students will write meaningful sentences and paragraphs utilizing appropriate structure.
  • Students will hear a variety of literature representing many genres and ideas.
  • Students will use the writing process to compose their own story using various writing techniques.
𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝗮𝗱𝗲 (𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿):
I started my path to teaching in college when I volunteered with AmeriCorps.  I went on to teach in traditional public schools after I completed my M.Ed. and received my teaching license, but I quickly learned the school environment was not the ideal setting for myself or my child.  That is when I transitioned to homeschooling and teaching online.  I have been teaching writing course for fifteen years.  My primary objective in each class is to help the learners feel comfortable and gain confidence in their writing.

Please communicate with the instructor if accommodations or modifications are needed.  Academy teachers are trained and educated on how to meet unique learning needs and classes can be adjusted as needed.
