Welcome to Wizard School! You have just taken part in your first Potions Class and it didn't quite go to plan... whilst brewing a potion for courage you forget to take the cauldron off the fire before adding the claw of dragon, and you melted the cauldron! The Professor was not very happy so he confiscates your wand and puts you in detention! He shuts the door and locks it with a spell. With no wand to cast an unlocking charm you must find a different way to escape, but be quick, you're competing in the Top Wizard Tournament and it's about to begin! Use the items around the classroom to transport you to magical locations and solve the puzzles you find there. The solution to each puzzle will bring you one step closer to escape. Can you complete all the puzzles in time to escape and join the Top Wizard Tournament... Class will begin with a brief introduction to how the Escape Room works and then students will receive a link by which they can access the Escape Room. Their individual timer starts when they enter the room and they will have 50 minutes to complete the Escape Room. Students can work through the Escape Room individually or in groups via breakout rooms. The puzzles focus on literacy and math skills as well as logical, critical and analytical thinking. I can provide assistance and clues as the students progress should they need some help in completing the Escape Room. The Escape Room is designed to last the allotted time but should students finish early we can spend some time discussing the puzzles and works of wizarding fiction. So what are you waiting for? Dust off your cloaks and join me on this magical adventure! *Dressing up is optional but I shall be wearing my cloak!*

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been in education for 19 years and am currently the Assistant Head of Special Educational Needs in a secondary school (students aged 11-16) in the UK. I believe in an inclusive education for all students, no matter their ability or disability.
I teach English, Film and Media, and creativity is at the heart of all the classes I teach.
I was an art technician for three years in which I honed my artistic skills that I will use to offer art based classes.
I also ran my own small baking and cake decorating business for seven years; I even had celebrity clients! So, I hope to offer these classes to students in the near future.
In my spare time I love walking my pug and I am an avid reader of fantasy fiction. I also enjoy running; I have completed several half marathons and my goal is to complete a full marathon some day. I am a big kid at heart so look out for my Pokémon based classes!
I will leave you with one final thought: 'Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.' - Nelson Mandela.
